Extending Upward
Our client required more living space, but rather than extend sideways, the decision was made to build upward and over the existing single storey kitchen wing.
This project was made more demanding by the need to keep the ground floor kitchen in use during the construction process.
The answer was to enclose the entire wing with scaffolding and sheeting. With the work area weatherproofed work could progress regardless of the vagaries of the British climate.
The result was a modern first floor living area with a large frameless glazed floor to ceiling dormer giving spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.
