A new low energy SIPS constructed dwelling with canal side frontage in the North Oxfordshire village of Cropredy. A contemporary design to fit in the conservation area and with its proximity to a listed building.
The SIP construction achieved a very high level of air tightness so necessary if a low energy solution is to be achieved. An air source heat pump generates the heat through underfloor heating and with the high levels of insulation afforded by the SIP construction a low consumption energy solution is achieved.
The uniqueness of the site with a canal side frontage influenced the design style with features such as the gable frontage echoing the traditional water front buildings aesthetic but with contemporary detailing.
